Others already in the conversation

I was just listening to Robert Wright on Optimism [TED]. About 13 minutes in he makes a great case for a need for us to make some real progress in the arena of morality. In particular the reduction of “hate”. [If there is an evil on this planet it is hate.] “Launching a moral revolution - what do you do?” He thinks it’s a lot of people doing a lot of things. So do I and, for me one of those things is to somehow enlarge, enhance and empower this conversation.

Being human challenges conscious intention

I am being human in ways that continue to confound and baffle me - as if I’m not really cause in the matter of my life. That piece of the language in last week's blog is especially present for me when it takes me longer than I think appropriate to continue this blog. And, I know that I have complete willful access to being cause whenever I choose but I do have to choose.

After re-reading this myself, I admit the lazy part of being human has me make what follows public without taking the time to fill in all of the blanks. Instead I'll acknowledge the generosity of of any reader here along with your abilityto fill in the blanks as you read. Without that, this is nothing.

I acknowledge and affirm the complete, unconditional love I have for myself as I am. And I acknowledge and affirm all of the others I experience and my love for all of them.

I experience this love as an aspect of the physical energies that many of us have learned in our culture to suppress. This suppression is just one part of our cultural evolution that we can actually alter just like we can alter any psychological sort of thing if we just know how. It is completely a function of conversation.

This cultural aspect of how we create who we are points to the nature of the conversation that I think we can have that will carry us into a conscious world intentionally created beyond the questionable structures of our cultures to date.

It’s time to build new structures, using new technologies. And it’s time to manifest a “revolutionary” transformation in our planetary culture without resorting to violence or coercion.

How do I continue this conversation

Following is the language included in my daily practice. It is the basis of my conversation with myself.

Who I am is choosing. I choose to be conscious intentional and intelligent; joyous, loving and brave. I choose to be brilliantly present, observant and compassionate. I choose to be this human in ways that call forth my deepest and most profound love, respect and admiration for who I'm being. I choose to be this planet and I choose to be a world where love is first and foremost for one and all. I choose to be exploring creation, expressing love and making stuff up.

I choose to be responsible for what I'm making up. And I make it up that these choices are the most important and most empowering choices I can make. And I make it up that making stuff up is my access to creation.

I take on being responsible for what I'm creating by doing this practice at least once each day and by paying attention to what I'm making up and noticing how it's going.

I take on noticing in particular how it's going with regard to being who I say I am. I take on noticing whatever there is for me to notice, learning whatever there is for me to learn, doing whatever there is for me to do, and I take on enjoying whatever there is for me to enjoy.

I acknowledge and affirm -
- That Consciousness is a choice and I choose to be conscious.

- I am present both physically and metaphysically.

- The design I see manifest in all of my experience.

- The gratitude, reverence and responsibility that is my relationship to the design.

- The gratitude, reverence and responsibility that is my relationship to my life as I experience it.

- That my life is a miracle,
- there is work for me to do both physically and metaphysically
- nothing is wrong.

I acknowledge and affirm that I am being human in ways that confound and baffle me as well as in ways that call forth my deepest, most profound love respect and admiration for who I'm being.

I acknowledge and affirm my complete unconditional love for myself as I am.

I acknowledge and affirm all of the others whom I experience and my love for all of life.

I acknowledge and affirm all of the healing that has occurred and is now occurring and that will continue both with and without my conscious intention.

I acknowledge and affirm that I have complete willful access to this state of being cause in the matter of my life whenever I choose but only when I choose.

How do I begin a conversation for evolution?

I talked to Lori today and as a direct result of that conversation, this is the beginning of this blog. In part, I want to acknowledge her for being who she’s being and claim that this is her doing - without her I wouldn’t be doing this. And I know that to be a dangerous conversation. It is critical for me to take full responsibility for my choices. And that is what this blog is about.

It’s about taking on being responsible for what I’m creating in this world and the one aspect of my own creation where I’m completely clear that I have enormous power is in my conversations. The conversations that I’m talking about are those that have power with regard to who and how I am in the world and how the world occurs for me. Everybody ready to enter this conversation clearly understands that the conversation “the world is a dangerous and scary place” differs from “the world is a miraculous and exciting and challenging.”

We all have it in us to be complete cause in the matter of our conversation. And we all have some inkling that this power is absolutely critical to our continued success as a species. I’m completely convinced that we have it in us as a species to come together in cooperation to brilliantly manage our resources and the appropriate distribution of resources to serve us all as individual and as a species.

And I’m willing to suggest a vision in which we could actually alter the overall conversation of our planetary species and all of our diverse cultures to achieve a complete and profound state of peace among all humans and with our planet as a whole. And that we can see a complete end to violence among humans within one year. And I’m brash enough to suggest that year starts with this conversation.

And I’m crystal clear that there are others having this conversation who began before I did and I am so delighted that I am not alone. I will name and discuss some of those whom I know to be at the leading edge of this conversation in blogs to come. And, I am certain that we can’t just sit back and leave this one to those doing the leading. This one is for all of us to take on. This is where the conversational rubber hits the road. This is where this evolutionary process comes to life. We have seen cosmic evolution and biological evolution and cultural evolution. I won’t take on naming this evolution, but I do take on being responsible for my conversation for my own evolutionary process.
